On Thursday 18th March Andy McConnell, from The Antiques Roadshow will be giving a
lively talk looking back at over 500 years of glass drinking vassals!
This is a unique opportunity to come and see Andy in the intimate surroundings of The Place
at the Beach Dining room.
Andy McConnell is one of Britain’s leading authorities on glassware of all types, and his books
have covered the subject from 1650 to the present. He is the first glass specialist recruited to
BBC TV’s Antiques Roadshow, for which he has now recorded five series. He lectures widely
on glass and has written for journals as diverse as The Times, Country Life, BBC Homes &
Antiques. Included in your ticket will be a 3 course dinner prepared by Head Chef Austin Gould
that will showcase some of the fantastic ingredients found minutes from the Restaurant, like
Rye Bay Scallops which are now in season!
Tickets cost £27.50 per person including a 3 course dinner.
