The coastline of East Sussex is one of the last undiscovered secrets of England,
the home to hundreds of square miles of protected nature reserves, wild shingle
foreshores and some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the country.
The hotel is just 1hour 45 minutes from London by car or 55 minutes door to door, using the new speed link
from St Pancras to Ashford.
In the middle of this countryside lies The Place at the Beach Hotel and Dining Room, set back behind the sand
dunes of Camber Sands. Recently acquired by new owners, the hotel is popular with photo shoots and filming
crews using the beach and is fast becoming the newest cool venue for exclusive use corporate events.
The Place at the Beach has come up with a number of activities that can be booked for your delegates to make
their event a unique experience.
Beach Treasure Hunt with speed boats (1/2 or full day)
Delegates will be placed into groups and given maps and guides from an instructor to find each of the items on
the treasure map, starting at the hotel.
Each team will follow the clues that will take them down the beach to the harbor (20 minutes walk down the beach)
where speed boats will be waiting to for them. They will then need to navigate the speed boat to each of the targets
and then hit each target using a paint ball gun.

Learn to kite buggy (2-3hrs)
Kite buggying is a wind-based sport, and is a real rush - if you have never seen kite bugging, you must try it!
You sit in a three wheel buggy (which you steer with your feet) close to the ground, and use the power kite
to pull you along.
The sport is very easy to pick up making it a perfect ½ or full day activity to attach to corporate away days
Kite buggying can be carried out on the beach or grassland. You can just cruise along taking it easy, or
progress to kite buggy racing or do freestyle tricks. It's a little like kite land boarding, except that you
sit down on the job!

Go Carting at Lydd International Raceway
Lydd is a very popular circuit as it is both fast and run by a friendly and enthusiastic team. It has a very impressive
bar/restaurant on site so could be an ideal venue for a corporate event and the trackside cafe is capable of serving
hot and cold meals throughout the day. 60 minute races can be arranged for corporate events with prices starting

Lunch or overnight in Le Touquet, France
Lydd international airport is just a 10 minute drive from the hotel and provides return flights to Le Touquet in France.
Le Touquet is the jewel of the North French coast. Situated on the coast, around 38 miles South of Calais, Le Touquet
became as fashionable as the Riviera in the 1930's, when Noel Coward, P G Wodehouse and others entertained in
villas amongst the pinewoods, and luxury hotels were built for the weekending English aristocracy.
Today Le Touquet is still the 'Cannes of the Cote d'Opale' and is also known as 'Paris-Plage' for its role as the favourite
beach resort for well off Parisians.
Its casino, chic designer shops, art galleries, golf course, flower- trimmed lawns and wealth of cafés and restaurants makes
Le Touquet an excellent and attractive choice for a civilised short break or a day trip to one of the many gastronomic restaurants.
