family and friends and help take some of the stress and strain off the Christmas Day cook!
When we were thinking about what to do on Christmas Eve we all recollected stories of our families getting
together around the dining room table to enjoy satisfying ‘comfort food’, where the unhurried conversation
was of the big day ahead. It was obvious we should try and create this same spirit in our brasserie this
Christmas for our guests.
As a result this Christmas Eve we are serving a selection of ‘absolute favourites’, perfectly cooked using
the very best local ingredients, brought to you in large serving dishes and plates allowing you to help yourself
to each dish and come back for seconds! Christmas is a time for sharing after all...
Candlelit Christmas Eve Supper Menu
- Mulled wine
- Selection of hot and cold canapés
- Fisherman’s pie, fresh Rye Bay fish, white sauce, crispy puff pastry top
- Shepherds pie, slowly braised Romney salt marsh lamb topped with soft mash potatoes
- Whole free range roasted chicken, lemon, thyme and garlic for you to carve (or we will do it for you)
- Selection of seasonal buttered vegetables
- Kent apple crumble, crunchy top and proper English custard
- Old fashioned English sherry trifle
- Dark chocolate and Seville orange mousse, jersey cream
- Coffee and homemade mini mince pies and chocolate truffles
The main courses are brought to your table in a large serving dishes allowing you to help yourself
and come back for seconds! Each dish serves 2 – 3 adults.
Everything is prepared from scratch in our kitchens. Where possible we use ingredients sourced within
30 miles of our Dining Room. Meat from local farmers sourced by Jamie Wickens in Winchelsea, fish
from boats in Hastings and Rye, fruit and veg from farms around us and bread from the Lighthouse Bakery.
