Central London to the beach on foot in 1 hour 10minutes!

Sitting on the M25 on a Friday night is no one’s idea of fun so we have come up with a door to door escape that
gets you from central London to the best beach on the south coast in record time!

Your fast train from St Pancras station leaves at 19:12pm on the Friday night and goes at light speed to Ashford
in just 38 minutes!

Walk across the platform and 8 minutes later you are heading for Rye. 22 minutes later step off into another world!

We will have arranged a cab to be ready and waiting for you to take you the 8 minute drive to Camber sands.

Slip out of the cab and through the door of The Place at The Beach Hotel and a smile will appear on your face
as you think about all those people who thought it would be much better to take the car away for a weekend!

So what to do now you are here………

Arrival
Head straight to the bar for a well earned drink
Retreat to our newly created sitting room for an after dinner drink & crack open a board game.
Or grab a DVD and disappear to your room

Saturday
After our legendary breakfast walk over the sand dunes (making sure you don’t fall over backwards when you
see this amazing expanse of sand stretching for miles!

Turn left and head down to where the kite surfers are pounding the waves. Turn right and you can walk down
to the harbor and see the fishing boats coming in……and keep going and you are in the accent town of Rye
with its cobbled stones streets and smugglers pubs, the most haunted place in Britain is hidden away up
one of the streets.

Rye also prides itself on having no chain shops and this means there are lots of great stores to check out...
do not miss going to Glass etc which is run by Andy McConnell, a regular expert on The Antiques Roadshow...
its is an Aladdin’s cave of interesting glass and nick-nacks.

Buses go back to Camber on the hour for those worn out from walking.

Sunday
Breakfast again…..what a bore!

If you tell us in advance we recommend you hire some bikes which we get delivered to the hotel (£10/day). There are quite
simply some of the best/flattest cycle routes around and they start just outside the hotel.

Turn left and head into the Romney Marsh where you will find Dungeness nature reserve and stunning shingle beaches. HYPERLINK "http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2008/feb/17/gardens" Derick Jarman lived and died here and nothing
will prepare you for the bleak wilderness and stunning scenery…..you will also see uber cool grand design style beach huts
and The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch miniature Railway

Turn right and you can bike into Rye. We suggest heading over to Rye Harbor nature reserve

If you prefer not to hit the bikes then we can arrange a ‘learn to’ extreme lesson on the beach for:

Powerkiting from £40 (3hrs)
Beach Buggy £50 (3hrs)

Kite Surfing (this will need a few days click here to make this happen)

If all of this is sounding a bit energetic then for an extra £15 we will deliver Sunday papers to your room, let you check
out at 1pm and then give you 10% off our Sunday lunch menu which of course features our amazing roast!

Your cab will pick you up from the hotel at 4:30pm and you train departs Rye at 16:46

An hour and 5 minutes later you step off the train back in central London relaxed, stress free and ready for whatever
the big smoke has install for you on the week ahead!

£185.40 per person based on two sharing a double room
Come in the week for £151.40 per person
